Tokyo Royale was originally started in 2006 as the UKs 1st dedicated handmade Lolita brand to open a shop.

Named after the magnificent novels and film "Battle Royale" The aim for Tokyo Royale is to handpick and encompass the most visually striking and different styles from Japan and bring them to the UK.

We pride ourselves on NOT using real fur and we try to provide as much unique and handmade clothing as we can to a broader size range. Everything we sell, we would be happy to buy ourselves. We price our goodies reasonably, based on the level of work that goes into each item.

Unlike many companies, Tokyo Royale was borne out of a genuine love for Anime, Japanese horror, Gothic Lolita style, Visual Kei and Manga influenced Club kids and Harajuku girls!

We are dedicated to providing western sizes with unique Japanese influenced styles.

When we began in 2005, the Original Tokyo Royale clothing was handmade using 3 professional seamstresses who had more than 15 years seamstressing experience each.

At this time our main focus was on recreating intricate Lolita styles in custom sizes, from 6-24. These seamstresses have now retired, so all our previous items can no longer be reproduced. Please check which items we have left and get yours quick, once they are gone - they are gone!

Our new ranges are increasingly more influenced by Alice in Wonderland and Steam punk as well as Anime and Visual Kei styling, drawing inspiration from magazines and books such Gothic & Lolita Bible, Kera, Shoxx and Fruits.

We have now extended our Mens wear by importing J-rock punk brands, Anime T-shirts and hand making limited edition items.

We are also proud to be exclusive retailers for a number of handmade brands like Lolita Kisama, whom make most of our J-Rock accessories.

We also stock accessories handmade by Torture Couture and Handmade Horrors.

We are always constantly striving to create Harajuku style casual wear in the form of excellent quality originals, one offs and limited editions using Rare Japanese import fabric.

Most of the Kawaii, Lolita inspired, cut sew and cosplay hoodies and clothing are made on the Manchester premises by Ellie or Kira, and many can still be made in a size 6-24 ^ _^
We are also really excited to have extended our clothing range to include the awesome Mens and ladies designs of local Manchester T- shirt design company GENKI GEAR, who make the coolest t-shirts and hoodies with a distinctly Japanese flavour.

We will also soon be selling Liverpool based designer Sugar-pop Clothing, who makes stunning fruits inspired ultra feminine clothing.

These will compliment the super cute handmade by Kira Decora Jewellery using rare Tokyo Import goodies - authentic Sanrio and Mori Chax - that are usually only for sale in Japan!

We also have Lolita items specially made for Tokyo Royale, such as cut sews, head dresses and accessories handmade by UK Lolita girl Fuchsia, and special head dresses by "In the Starlight". Both ladies have 6-8 years of experience as seamstresses.

We are always looking for inspirational up and coming Kawaii or Gothic clothing and accessory designers to sell items on a sale or return basis.
